Itinerary Details
Day 1
TucumanArrival and reception at the aiport. Transfer to the hotel, Accomodation.
Day 2
Tucuman / AnfamaTransfer from Tucuman to “El Siambon” a town at 60 km. (37.50 miles) from the city of San Miguel de Tucuman to a outpost called “Anfama” (from the Kanana language “place of encounter”) at 1850 masl. (6166 ft.) through the ravine of a Rio Grande River. We will go across the river bed many times where we could see with different tree species such as laurel, tipas, ceviles and walnut trees giving a different framework to the first part of the journey. Picnic Lunch. After midday we will go through the small town to reach an outpost where the family will welcome us with the typical kindness from the people of the mountains. Dinner. Length of the cavalcade: 3 hours
Day 3
Anfama / San Jose de ChaquivilWe set off to the oupost of “San Jose de Chaquivil” along the path “La Ramadita”. This path is distinguished by the variety of deep ravines and rivers until we reach the inn where we will have lunch and make ourselves comfortable to enjoy the special place.During the journey, we could appreciate indigeneous settlements such as stones corrals and one menhir. In the afternoon we could go and visit the place by walking or on horse. Dinner. Length of the cavalcade: 3 hours
Day 4
San Jose de ChaquivilThis day we will have the option to go riding to different places of the reserve like the old post of Don Eusebio, to Negrito Hill from where you have the possibility to see condors. Lunch. That night we will have a delicious dinner of lamb or the typical barbecued meat around a warm bonfire where we will rest and share our experiences lived during the journey.Length of the cavalcade: 6 hours
Day 5
San Jose de Chaquivil / TucumanAfter having breakfast and preparing our horses, we will say goodbye to the unforgettable mountains to return to Raco -1200 masl. (4000 ft.), along the path of the tops of mountains -at 2200 masl. (7333 ft.), where we go past the spot of “ La Hoyada” -at 1440 masl. (4592ft), a place at the foot of the mountain between two rivers where we will have lunch. That day we could admire the view of the place of the slopes that we will go up and down. Finally, we reach Raco where we’ll say goodbye to our horses and we will go back to San Miguel de Tucuman City. Length of the cavalcade: 9 hours
Day 6
TucumanTransfer to the aiport to board the departure flight.
